To apply, follow these instructions carefully:

All Applicants

  1. Download and print the IECP Application Form or submit it online.
  2. Download and print the Application for Visa Document Form or submit it online.
  3. If you want to live in a dormitory for Fall 2009:
First, apply for a Penn State e-mail account at https://fps.psu.edu.
Then, download and print a Request for Residence Hall Contract Form or submit it online. 
You must also provide:
  • a $ 100 nonrefundable check made payable to The Pennsylvania State University for the IECP English language school application fee (This fee is nonrefundable and does not apply to IECP tuition.)
  • a bank statement that shows you have the funds to support twelve months of studying and living at Penn State
  • a letter from your parents or sponsor (individual or governmental) guaranteeing your financial support (not necessary if you are supporting yourself)
  • a copy of your passport photo page to verify your official information

Transfer Applicants

If you are transferring from another U.S. program, please contact the Intensive English office to obtain a transfer form for your other program to complete.

When is the application deadline?

We accept applications at any time; however, students who need a student visa must apply at least six weeks before they want to begin IECP study.
