Dr. Craig Weidemann
Penn State Vice President for Outreach
Dr. Craig D. Weidemann was named
Penn State's vice president for outreach in 2003. In this position he oversees the University's outreach initiatives and has responsibility for Continuing Education, Online
Education, Noncredit Professional Education, Public Broadcasting, and Extension.
Greetings from Craig
It is a true honor to be working in my role as Vice President for Outreach at Penn State. I see outreach as an important element of the land-grant mission. It fulfills the University's promise to share faculty scholarship with constituencies across the Commonwealth and around the world. Working collaboratively with the University's colleges and campuses, Penn State Outreach provides leadership to respond to the economic, social, educational, and cultural issues facing individuals, communities, and organizations. By responding to these challenges in innovative ways, our organization continues to build upon the promise of outreach.
Our organization has a rich history dating back to 1877 and a long tradition of success. Each year Penn State Outreach offers more than 2,000 programs and services in collaboration with the academic colleges. More than 1,500 faculty members deliver programs through the University's outreach units—Extension, Continuing Education, The World Campus, and Penn State Public Broadcasting. Our programs reach constituents in all 67 Pennsylvania counties, all 50 states, and 80 countries around the world. I hope that you or a member of your family will participate in a Penn State Outreach program in the near future.
