ABOUT THE CONFERENCE

"You're eagles!
Stretch your wings and fly to the sky."
--Ronald E. McNair
Congress established the Ronald E. McNair Postbaccalaureate Achievement Program in 1989, three years after the Challenger space shuttle incident, which claimed the life of Dr. Ronald E. McNair. The program is a federally funded TRIO program that prepares low-income, first-generation undergraduate students, and students underrepresented in graduate education, for doctoral study through research and other scholarly activities.
Penn State's McNair Scholars program began in October 1991 and continues with its sixteenth annual research conference. The conference will provide an opportunity for McNair scholars to present their summer research findings to a national audience, network with students and staff from McNair programs across the country, and meet with graduate admissions personnel from many institutions.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND
McNair scholars, research advisers, mentors, program staff, and graduate school representatives are invited to participate in the 16th Annual Penn State McNair Scholars Summer Research Conference and to visit Penn State's University Park campus.
