Building a Strong Committee
The structure of your committee can make or break your event
If you look up the word synergy in the dictionary, it should have a picture of your golf committee next to it. A strong committee will be made up of people with specific strengths, who, when brought together, are stronger and more dynamic than the sum of the individual parts. We'll discuss what kind of people you should look for and appoint to your committee, and how they can contribute to your success.

Sponsorship
The sponsors can be the backbone of your fund-raising efforts!
If you are expecting to make money for your charity using entry fees alone, then the boat has sailed, and you are still on the dock. The amount of money you can raise is limited only by how imaginative you are with sponsorships. Sponsors are an extremely important aspect of a successful tournament. We will cover setting sponsorship levels, as well as the many things that can be sponsored in a golf tournament. Don't miss the boat!

Get the Media Working for You
Forming partnerships with the media to get exposure for your event
Media coverage is essential to your event. Growing your event involves two things: increasing the number of golfers and/or increasing the amount of money raised through sponsors and general contributions. Partnering with the media can create a buzz about your event that grassroots efforts cannot duplicate. We will cover different ways of partnering with the media to obtain greater exposure for your tournament.

Adding to the Bottom Line
How pre-event fund-raising and on-course contests can generate a lot of money for your charity
While working on tournaments months in advance, why not use this time to raise pre-event monies and promote your event? This session will show you various proven methods that you can implement immediately to raise more money this year. In addition, you can learn ways to package the contests as moneymakers that will increase your bottom line.

Food and Beverages
Keep them full and they will be happy
"Them" means everyone-the golfers, the sponsors, the volunteers, and yes, even the committee. And do not forget the golf course staff. We will go into the who, what, where, and why of tournament food and beverages.

How to Recruit and Use Volunteers
Where to find volunteers and how to get them involved
Volunteers are the worker bees of your tournament's hive. We will cover where you can find them; how to best put them to work for you, how to keep them happy, loyal, and coming back year after year. These are the people who will interact directly with the golfers in your tournament. You need to make sure they always go above and beyond to ensure a seamless event for your charity.

Golf Day-Make Everyone a Winner and Stay Flexible
All the things you want to have happen (and some that you don't)
This is where all your hard work pays off. Then it rains. What should you do? A wise person once said, "If life gives you a bushel of lemons, you have a heck of a lot of lemons." Unexpected things will always pop up on golf day, but if you stay flexible and spend the time and effort planning up front, things will generally work out. We will cover how to have a fun, rewarding, and successful day, no matter how many lemons you have.
