Penn State University's 9th International Symposium on Heavy Vehicle Weights and Dimensions

Bohdan Kulakowski About the Event
The Pennsylvania Transportation Institute, a University transportation research center in the College of Engineering at Penn State, will host the 9th International Symposium on Heavy Vehicle Weights and Dimensions on behalf of the International Forum for Road Transport Technology (IFRTT). The wide-ranging scope of this symposium provides a broad platform for contributions from various disciplines involved in aspects of vehicle technology, vehicle-infrastructure interaction, safety, regulations, and policy. It also promotes discussion and sharing of ideas on a wide array of topics concerning heavy vehicles by assembling an international group of researchers, regulatory authorities, and industry leaders in the field of transportation. The Call for Papers provides more specific information on areas of interest and submitting an abstract for consideration. The IFRTT board members will review the papers submitted.

Who Should Attend

This program is designed for researchers, practitioners, policy makers, and industry leaders in the fields of freight and passenger transportation, including all aspects of heavy vehicle and roadway technology. Individuals from the rail industry may also benefit from this program. All current members of IFRTT are encouraged to attend.

Benefits
The symposium provides a forum for researchers, regulatory authorities, and industry leaders to share ideas, new technologies, research, and theories on a variety of topics concerning heavy vehicles and transportation. All delegates attending the symposium become members of the IFRTT until the next symposium. Members benefit from the IFRTT's focus on facilitating the exchange of information on a variety of issues related to road transport technology. One method of communication is the Vehicle/Road E-mail Network operated by Cambridge University. More information about the IFRTT can be found by visiting their Web site.
