Program Overview
The classes are offered in a condensed format at convenient times to minimize the impact on your summer vacation plans. Earn 3 credits per course by combining five class days and independent study.
In response to your requests for new material, Penn State periodically adds new courses, as well as continuing to offer those courses in highest demand. You may enroll in these new courses, which are in addition to the certificate, or you may choose the five original core courses to earn a Penn State certificate.*
Many courses may be applicable toward a master's degree or other School of Nursing programs (see course descriptions for specifics). Along with small class sizes, the courses offer high interactivity in a condensed format at convenient times and at locations close to home. Individual courses satisfy Act 48 requirements and provide professional development for other educators, such as coaches and physical education or health teachers.
*This program is not designed to satisfy Pennsylvania school nurse initial certification requirements.
