How to Register

Registration for the fall 2008 courses is now open.

You will need to register separately for each course in the series. Enrollment in one course does not automatically register you for subsequent courses.

Noncredit Option

Choose this option if you do not want to receive graduate credit for your course work. Noncredit students can receive continuing education hours for professional associations and licensing boards. Noncredit students will also receive Continuing Education Units (CEUs) that will appear on a noncredit transcript. However, noncredit students will not earn graduate credit from Penn State. Please note: After completing a course in noncredit status, you cannot convert your CEUs to credits at any point in the future.

  1. Download, print, and complete the appropriate Noncredit Course Registration Form. This form must be submitted with your payment to the address below.
  2. Mail (or fax) your completed course registration form with payment to the following address:

  3. You should receive confirmation by e-mail within seven days of our receipt of your registration. If you do not receive this e-mail within seven days, contact Erin Garthe by phone at 800-228-1627 or 814-865-9654.

Credit Option

Choose this option if you want to receive graduate credit from Penn State's College of Education. Credits earned will appear on a graduate transcript. Credit students can also earn continuing education hours for professional associations and licensing boards.

  1. Complete and submit Penn State's Non-Degree Graduate School Online Application form. This form can be found online at http://www.gradsch.psu.edu/prospective/apply.html. You must apply online (electronically). Do not apply using the printable version of the form.

    IMPORTANT: To correctly complete this application form, be sure to follow the instructions provided for NON-DEGREE applicants.

    Only six sections of the application need to be completed for non-degree graduate applicants; however, the five remaining sections still need to be saved by clicking the "Save Section" button at the bottom of each section (even if no data is entered). The required sections for nondegree graduate applicants are:
    • Biographical Information
    • Campus/Major/Degree Information
    • Address Information
    • Education Information
    • Citizenship
    • Course Work in Progress (the postbaccalaureate questions only)

    On the Campus/Major/Degree page, choose "University Park" as the campus, choose "Non-Degree Graduate" as the major, choose "None" as the degree, choose "Fall of 2008" as the semester, and mark that you plan to attend "Continuously."

    If you’ve completed this application in the past, you need not do so again. However, if you have been enrolled at Penn State as a graduate student or as a nondegree graduate student and are resuming study after an absence of one or more semesters (excluding the summer session), you must complete a Resume Study/Change of Graduate Degree or Major form before registering for this program. Please go to the following Web site for further instructions and the form: http://www.gradsch.psu.edu/current/current.html.

  2. Download, print, and complete the appropriate course registration form. This form must be submitted with your tuition payment to the address below. Your registration cannot be processed unless it is submitted with complete information and payment.

    Pennsylvania residents should use the In-State Registration Form. Nonresidents should use the Out-of-State Registration Form.

  3. Mail (or fax) your completed course registration form (from step 2) and your tuition payment to the following address:
