Continuing Education Hours
Act 48 for Pennsylvania Educators
Penn State is an Act 48–approved provider. You can earn contact hours toward fulfilling Act 48 requirements by completing these courses. Professional educators are encouraged to confirm that this program fits their school district's professional development plan for Act 48.

Participants enrolled in this course for credit can earn 30 Act 48 hours.
Participants enrolled in the noncredit option of this course can earn 14 Act 48 hours.
Pennsylvania State Board of Social Workers, Marriage and Family Therapists, and Professional Counselors
Penn State is an approved provider as defined by Pa. Code Sections 47.36(a)(3), 48.36(a)(3), and 49.36(a)(3). Social workers, marriage and family therapists, and professional counselors licensed by the state of Pennsylvania can earn 14 clock hours for each 2-day course.
Continuing Education for Psychologists
Approval to offer continuing education (CE) credits for psychologists has been applied for through the Penn State Consortium. The Penn State Consortium, consisting of the Department of Psychology, College of the Liberal Arts; the Programs in Counseling Psychology and School Psychology, College of Education; and the Counseling and Psychological Services Internship Center, is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. The Penn State Consortium maintains responsibility for this program and its content.
Pending approval for fall 2008 seminars.
Full attendance at the course sessions is required to receive CE credits. Partial credits will not be awarded; late arrival or early departure will preclude awarding of CE credits.
National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC)
Penn State is an NBCC Approved Continuing Education Provider (ACEP) and may offer NBCC approved clock hours for events that meet NBCC requirements. The ACEP solely is responsible for all aspects of the program.
National Certified Counselors can earn 14 clock hours for each 2-day course. Full attendance at the course sessions is required to receive CE credit. Partial credits will not be awarded.
