Charles Hughes, Ph.D.
Dr. Hughes is a professor of special education at Penn State, where he has been a faculty member for twenty-one years. Previously he worked for fifteen years in schools and clinics, as well as at the State Department level. He has authored or co-authored more than eighty-five publications—articles, book chapters, books, and instructional curriculum materials. His research focuses on developing and validating self-management and learning strategies for students with learning and behavioral problems. He is currently the executive director of the Council for Exceptional Children’s Division for Learning Disabilities and the editor of Learning Disabilities Research and Practice.
Jose Martinez-Diaz, Ph.D., BCBA
Dr. Martinez-Diaz has been a practicing behavior analyst for more than twenty-seven years. He is the chair of the master’s degree program in applied behavior analysis at the Florida Institute of Technology, an adjunct faculty member at several other universities, and the president and director of ABA Technologies, Inc., which provides training and continuing education in behavior analysis. He has held both administrative and clinical positions in agencies that serve people with autism and related disabilities.
Dennis Reid, Ph.D., BCBA
Dr. Reid received his doctorate in psychology, with a specialization in applied behavior analysis and school psychology, from Florida State University. He is currently the executive director of Habilitative Management Consultants, Inc., in Morganton, North Carolina, and the director of the Carolina Behavior Analysis and Support Center. He has more than thirty years experience in working with developmental disabilities, as a manager, clinician, and consultant in educational services, staff training and management, treatment of challenging behavior, support services for people with severe disabilities, and teaching functional skills to people with severe disabilities. Dr. Reid has published more than 100 applied research journal articles and book chapters focusing on applied behavior analysis in developmental disabilities, and staff management, and he has published seven books.
