This course is structured to offer planners, land developers, and engineers strategies for effectively designing and evaluating stream restoration and stabilization projects using HEC-RAS. It will cover concepts of river hydraulics, including flow resistance, energy, and water surface profiles. In addition, analyses of stream restoration and stable channel designs using HEC-RAS will be covered. The course will include hands-on computer design and analyses of simple hypothetical cases, followed by a more complex design and analysis of a selected real-world project.
