Deer Management
Relevance of Topic:
It is likely that some of your students
are hunters and/or children of hunters, and may have some strong
opinions about deer management in Pennsylvania. This is an opportunity
to discuss management options and the role of the state agency charged
with their management, the Pennsylvania Game Commission.
Teaching about deer also allows students
to explore how a wildlife species affects and is affected by its
environment, and how management practices can influence those effects.
