Welcome

Welcome to the Web site of the National Obesity Action Forum, which will be held on June 5-6, 2006, at the Hyatt Regency in Bethesda, Maryland.

This important event is sponsored by the Department of Health and Human Services' National Institutes of Health, Division of Nutrition Research Coordination; the Office of Public Health and Science, Regions I-X; and Penn State.

U.S. Surgeon General Richard H. Carmona, former U.S. Surgeon General David Satcher, and the Assistant Secretary for Health Admiral John O. Agwunobi are featured speakers.

This two-day meeting aims to bring together--to address the problem of overweight and obesity in our nation--federal, state, and local public health officials; leaders of community organizations and advocacy groups; nutrition and physical fitness experts; health care providers; school and food industry representatives; and interested consumers.

More information will be added to this Web site as it becomes available. We encourage you to bookmark this site and share this information with your colleagues.
