General Information

  • Unless otherwise noted, all meetings and meals will be held at the new Stuckeman Family Building (which houses the School of Architecture and Landscape Architecture); see pictures, etc., at http://www.larch.psu.edu/. Click here for online directions and a map.
  • All conference locations are handicap-accessible.
  • Conference participants will have connection to the Internet via wireless and open computer labs.
  • Each attendee will receive a short-term Penn State ID for access to the Internet, recreation facilities, libraries, etc.
  • Presentation spaces include:
    • two media classrooms (30 seats and 20 workstations; 45 seats and 30 workstations)
    • open computer labs (25 Wintel GIS, 20 Wintel with tablets, 25 mixed high-end workstations)
    • two auditorium-style spaces seating 40 to 60 people
    • lecture space for 150 people, with public address system and audiovisual capabilities
    • Immersive Environments Lab (40 seats, wraparound 3-D)
    • 200-, 250-, and 300-seat auditoriums in adjacent buildings
    • audiovisual capabilities via video projectors or plasma displays
  • Meeting spaces include:
    • conference rooms for 12, 16, 25 (plus a combination of two of those)
  • A program, the abstracts, and the attendee roster will be made available in hard copy.
  • We will distribute the proceedings both as a CD-ROM (at the conference) and online.
  • The themed sessions will be organized and chaired by Penn State faculty with the goal of taking selected papers to full-length chapters for edited volumes (Landscape Archaeology and Community Design, and possibly Ecological Design). The selections will be made during and after the conference.
