Parasites and Pathogens--3 hours, 0.3 CEU

Parasites and Pathogens reviews the significant disease agents found in wastewaters, sludges, compost, aerosols, and contaminated materials. The disease agents reviewed include viruses, bacteria, fungi, protozoa, and helminthes (roundworms and tapeworms). Special reviews are offered for hepatitis viruses, HIV (AIDS virus), West Nile virus, leptosporosis, giardiasis, crytosporidium, and roundworm and tapeworm diseases. Disease transmission, body defenses, and hygiene measures are covered.
