About the Instructor
Michael H. Gerardi--M.S., biology, James Madison University--is an instructor at Penn State and is responsible for the development and presentation of wastewater biology courses. In addition, he provides on-site consultation regarding wastewater treatment facilities for several major corporations.
Mr. Gerardi served as technical coordinator and manager for the Williamsport (Pennsylvania) Sanitary Authority, where he was responsible for the operational and administrative functions of two activated sludge plants.
Mr. Gerardi has authored more than eighty-five technical publications and is developing a series of Wastewater Microbiology texts published by John Wiley & Sons. Titles include Settleability Problems and Loss of Solids in the Activated Sludge Process, Nitrification and Denitrification in the Activated Sludge Process, The Microbiology of Anaerobic Digesters, and Wastewater Pathogens.
