Credits and Accreditation

Continuing Education Units (CEUs)
Continuing Education Units (CEUs) are based on a standard of 1 unit per ten hours of classroom instruction. At the conclusion of this conference, each participant will be awarded the CEUs earned (.9 for the full program), which be added to your Penn State Continuing Education transcript.  If you would like a certificate, please ask for one at the registration desk and it will be mailed to you after the conference.

Accreditation
The Penn State School of Nursing, College of Health and Human Development, is approved by the Pennsylvania State Nurses Association (PSNA) to provide continuing nursing education, and the PSNA has been declared an accredited approver of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation.

Application has been submitted for PSNA contact hours through the Penn State School of Nursing.

Application has been made for approval to offer continuing education credit for licensed social workers through the Pennsylvania State Board of Social Workers, Marriage and Family Therapists, and Professional Counselors.

Certified Health Education Specialists (CHES) may self-report for category II Continuing Education Contact Hours (CECH). Category I approval has not been applied for. The category II form is available online at http://www.nchec.org/conted/edu.asp.

Pennsylvania Act 48
Penn State is an Act 48-approved provider. This program is approved for 11 Act 48 hours. Professional educators are encouraged to confirm that this program fits their school district's professional development plan for Act 48.
