These nationally renowned speakers will address key topics related to 21st century economic development such as innovation, entrepreneurship, university-led economic development, regionalism, creating a 21st-century workforce, and the Strengthening America's Communities Initiative. The National Awards for Excellence in Economic Development will also be presented to best practice organizations.

Registration for the conference is limited to the first 150 people.

Location and Accommodations
The program will be held at The Ritz-Carlton Pentagon City, located in Arlington, Virginia, just minutes from both the Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport and downtown Washington, D.C.

A limited number of rooms have been set aside at the conference location. Call or fax The Ritz-Carlton Pentagon City to make your room reservation. Be sure to identify yourself as a participant in the Symposium for 21st Century Economic Development. Reservations should be made as soon as possible and no later than August 23, 2005. The special group rate is $239 plus 5.25 percent city tax and 5.0 percent state tax.

There is no fee to attend the symposium but registration is limited to the first 150 individuals enrolling for the event. Registrants will receive program materials and are eligible to attend all sessions refreshment breaks, breakfast, lunch, and a cocktail reception including a cash bar. Registrants are responsible for all other meals and lodging.

You will be notified promptly of any cancellations or schedule or program changes. Conferences and Institutes will confirm your enrollment in the program and provide additional information on final registration.

Refunds and Cancellations
All cancellations must be received in writing by mail or fax. Anyone who is registered but cannot attend may send a substitute. The University may cancel or postpone any course or activity because of insufficient enrollment or other unforeseen circumstances. If a program is canceled or postponed, the University will refund registration fees but cannot be held responsible for any other related costs, charges, or expenses, including cancellation/change charges assessed by airlines or travel agencies.
